Amidst great jubilation and a convivial atmosphere, management and staff of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) received FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello as he assumed duty once again as FCT Minister for a second term.
He was received by the Hon. Minister of State of the FCT, Hajia (Dr) Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu and the Permanent Secretary, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa.
The Honourable Minister of State had arrived a few minutes earlier and had been warmly received by the Permanent Secretary.
In a brief meeting with senior management staff on the FCTA held in his conference room after his arrival, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello stressed the need for cooperation from all for the success of his second outing as FCT Minister.
He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his reappointment as FCT Minister and for reverting to the old tradition of appointing a Minister of State in the FCT, stressing that Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu was a dear sister with whom he had worked closely when she served as the National Women Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The Minister urged all staff to work hard towards building the FCT of their dreams, stressing that the growth rate of the Territory was unprecedented and this needed the collective hard work of all to remain functional. He also assured the staff of his commitment and cooperation to take the FCT to the desired level.
He said: “Everybody has to work for the FCT of our dream. It is our FCT and it is growing at a rate which is far from normal. So everybody has to work extra hard to make the FCT work and I assure you of my maximum cooperation too”.
On her part, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu expressed delight at the reception by management and staff of the FCTA, describing it as a sign of love and respect for Malam Bello whom she described as her big brother. She also said that Mr. President shares that respect hence Bello’s reappointment to carry on with the good works he had done in the FCT.
She prayed for a good working relationship with all staff while assuring of her commitment to work with the Minister for the betterment of the FCT.
In his welcome remarks delivered earlier, the FCTA Permanent Secretary, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa had pledged the cooperation and loyalty of management and staff of the FCTA while welcoming both Ministers to the FCT.
